Springfield Rural is nestled within Haddon Woods in rural Cheshire, close to both the historic city of Chester and overlooking the Dee Estuary to the north Wales coastline.

We offer an individually tailored approach to all projects using our knowledge and experience gained over a lifetime.  

Timber buildings, Fencing and Forestry

From bespoke log cabins to fencing, decking and sheds, we are happy to use our own timber from our six acres of privately owned and managed forestry cut to size in our own sawmill or, if you prefer, your own.

Livestock Breeding and Farming

With six acres of woodlands, together with access to beautiful grazing pastures close by, we have sheep numbering more than 150 Scottish Blackface, Black Welsh Mountain, Cheviots and Mashams and supply lamb, mature hogget and three year old mutton to a leading local butchery.  

Together with this array of sheep, we also keep between 20 and 30 pigs - mainly Welsh, British Saddleback, Gloucester Old Spot and, more recently, Large Blacks.  The only all-black breed of pigs in Britain, Large Blacks have their origins in the 16th and 17th centuries, yet are now classified as a rare breed.

All our pigs roam freely in the woodlands and our mature pork is sold through the leading local butchery and farm shop.
